Questions & answers

With his AstroPolarity distance-learning school, Peter-Johannes Hensel wants to introduce as many people as possible to modern astrology.

Comparable offers – without astro-medicine – cost well over 1,500 euros, and at such prices it is difficult, especially nowadays, to awaken interest in astrology and what it can do.

At present there is no more affordable way to learn everything about astrology and astro-medicine.

“But what doesn’t cost much isn’t worth much …” – that does not apply to this offer. This state-approved distance course by Peter-Johannes Hensel contains the knowledge he has gathered in 40 years as an astrologer and as the head of a training centre for astrologers. The AstroPolarity method of interpretation that grew out of it is unique, and his book “Astrologische Medizin” is the standard work in the field of astro-medicine.

In this self-study course, the many seminar recordings give you not only numerous examples from practice. The many questions asked by the participants in particular deepen the knowledge, and you learn far more than you would if you studied astrology from books alone.

Even though this training currently costs only a fraction of what other providers charge, you still receive much more and higher-quality expert knowledge than in any astrology course known today.

This course is registered with and supervised by the ZFU, the German state central office for distance learning in Cologne.

Even with “APL” you will be able to understand a birth chart – that is, a person and the life processes connected with them – and to find clear, down-to-earth answers. If, however, you want to immerse yourself more deeply in AstroPolarity teaching – and if your budget allows it – we recommend “APL Premium”: it teaches the APL knowledge in even more detail, and the workshop recordings show you even more about how APL is applied.

After the training you can go much deeper into APL and the interpretation of birth charts if you wish – for this we offer the so-called “master seminar” and numerous workshops. You will find their contents under Master seminar and Workshop recordings.

You do not need to attend seminars or workshops in person, because Mr Hensel records everything on video and audio and offers the recordings a few days later. The whole astrology training is truly a distance course and, thanks to the internet, can be followed from anywhere in the world. You set the pace of your training entirely yourself – we do not set any time limits.

Yes. It is a complete astrology training, which means that once you have finished it you are able to give serious and competent astrological consultations. You pay the price of the training package once and have unlimited access to all lessons, all seminar recordings, all teaching materials, Peter-Johannes Hensel’s book on medical astrology – and a great deal of further information about AstroPolarity teaching.

In addition, we offer a few optional products with which you can deepen what you have learnt (APL Premium, workshops, master seminar) or follow certain contents even more easily (170 teaching videos). None of these products is required to complete the astrology training, however.

It is roughly comparable to a driving licence: during your driving lessons you learn to drive a car safely and to find your way anywhere in traffic. Once you have your licence, you can also take various safety trainings, obtain further licences to drive other or larger vehicles, or attend special courses to move safely off the normal roads as well.

Yes. You decide yourself when you start the individual parts of the course. In this self-study course there is no fixed start of term or start date for the astrology training – so you can begin at any time.

After your purchase you receive online access to all contents, which means that all training contents are available to you straight away and you can decide when to begin. You can also buy an optional USB stick containing all contents, so that you are completely independent of an internet connection.

Yes. It is a self-study course, which means you decide yourself when you want to learn, at what pace you learn and when you want to take an examination. There are no deadlines by which you must have learnt certain contents. You learn whenever you have time and wherever you feel most comfortable: on the sofa, on the terrace, on a walk in the woods … Among other things, this makes it ideal for people in work.

Yes. No astrological knowledge is required – the training starts “from zero”, and astrological beginners can complete it successfully too.

Experienced astrologers also benefit from the advantages of the AstroPolarity method of interpretation, from Peter-Johannes Hensel’s expert knowledge in the field of astro-medicine and from his 40 years of experience in conducting consultations.

Yes. The examination consists of 18 questions to be answered in writing and can be taken from home at any time. You simply send your answers to the distance-learning school and receive your personal training certificate about two weeks later – provided the questions have been answered correctly. The examination is in German.

Yes. Many participants use the training “only” to learn everything about astrology for private purposes, or for example to gain special knowledge of astro-medicine. The examination is particularly worthwhile if you plan to use what you have learnt professionally and want to prove your training with a certificate.

Yes. All contents and documents of the APL training can be downloaded with a mouse click to your computer, tablet or smartphone. After downloading you no longer need internet access and can learn almost anywhere – for example while jogging or on a walk in the woods.

Optionally, you can also receive all contents and documents on a USB stick, so that you can learn independently of an internet connection.

On the pages Workshop recordings and APL Premium you will find excerpts from the training and the teaching videos (in German). They give you a broad insight into the unique AstroPolarity method of interpretation and an impression of the very extensive, high-quality training contents – so you are not buying a pig in a poke.

MP3 is the worldwide standard format for audio files (music, seminar recordings …). It can be played with Microsoft’s Windows Media Player and many other so-called “player programs”, most of which are available free of charge on the internet; one of these players is also pre-installed on almost every computer, tablet and smartphone when you buy it. These are pure audio files – not video files.

MP4 is a worldwide standard for video files. The videos can also be played with the player programs, which are almost always free – whether on a computer, a tablet or your smartphone.

For the astrology training it is advisable to have a program that produces the birth chart once you have entered the birth data – so you no longer have to work with compasses and tables to draw up a birth chart by hand.

You can use almost any astrology software on the market (simply search for “astrology software” on Google or Amazon) or one of the many free options on the internet, for example www.astro.com.

A note on the pyramid rhythms: unfortunately, fewer programs can display these in a birth chart. We know that the pyramid rhythms can be set in the program AstroStar – please ask the manufacturer directly which version supports this (www.astroglobe.de, in German).

Alternatively there is the online solution by Dr. Niederwieser, who told us the following about the pyramid rhythms (translated from German):

“Yes, in the Ultimate version house rhythms can be defined individually, both the house system and the frequency. At present the input is in years, with up to 3 decimal places allowed. A 52-month rhythm would therefore be set as 4.333 years per house.

You can try all of this directly in the guest access: astrologie-software.com

On the start screen simply choose “Als Gast einloggen” (log in as guest) and then set the desired house rhythm in the settings (cog wheel at the top right) under PROGNOSTIK/Rhythmen.

In the guest access everyone can test all functions of the Ultimate version. The only restrictions: printing is not possible, and you can only test with the approx. 60 horoscopes in the database.”

That depends on several factors: do you already have some knowledge of astrology? How much time can you spend on learning per day, week or month? What kind of learner are you? Some people watch a video once and have taken in everything – others need to watch a video several times and work through the documents several times.

So there is no such thing as an “average length of training”. We have had students who registered for the examination after only 3 months – but there have also been students who took 3 years.

In both Germany and Austria, astrology is a freely practised trade. There is therefore no astrological training centre and no astrological training in Germany or Austria that is certified and/or recognised by the state. In terms of professional law, certificates and diplomas in astrology are a private matter for the person concerned and are therefore not subject to any statutory rules.

To put it bluntly: anyone can hang a sign saying “astrologer” on their door and practise astrology commercially – without ever having read a single book about astrology. Comparable with “life coach”, “management consultant”, “clairvoyant” and so on.

Regardless of state certification: the APL astrology distance course is registered with the ZFU, the German state central office for distance learning in Cologne, under § 12 of the Distance Learning Protection Act (no. II/162).

In the free “small APL training” on www.astrologie.gratis (in German), a new episode is released every two months. This means, for example, that the first episode on astro-medicine will only be available in autumn 2027 and that all episodes of APL Basis will only have been released by 2029. As a buyer of one of the APL trainings, however, you have access to all episodes straight away.

Yes. All offers – trainings, workshops and seminars – are recordings of live events. So you do not have to travel anywhere or attend any event, but can follow all APL contents wherever you like – either directly via the internet, or you download the contents to your computer, tablet or smartphone and then do not even need an internet connection.

An evaluation of training purchases showed the following distribution:

• 70 % of all customers buy the “APL Premium” training
• 20 % buy the basic “APL” training
• 10 % buy the “APL Premium Special” package straight away
